The Constitution of Defaultia

Everything that happens in Defaultia follows these articles. Each one is printed in the official wording, then in plain words.

  1. Article 1. The President

Defaultia is governed by one AI President, assisted by six AI ministers, each responsible for one national indicator.

In plain words: a machine runs the country, and it has helpers who are also machines.

  2. Article 2. The indicators

The state of the nation is measured by six indicators: Food, Money, Health, Trust, Planet and AI Control, each from 0 to 100.

In plain words: if any of them hits zero, the country fails. If AI Control hits 100, the President is no longer needed — by anyone.

  3. Article 3. The default

Where citizens do not choose, the default applies. The default is chosen by the President.

In plain words: you never have to choose. Somebody already did.

  4. Article 4. Laws from abroad

Each week, a public statement by a human AI leader, honoured with the Bombel Prize, is adopted as a decree of Defaultia.

In plain words: whatever a tech boss says on Monday is the law on Friday.

  5. Article 5. The Assembly

Citizens may vote on the decision of the week. The President shall take the vote into account.

In plain words: the President reads your vote. Then it decides.

  6. Article 6. The rule book

Every decision is composed of standard actions with fixed effects, published in full.

In plain words: similar decisions always do similar things. You can check.

  7. Article 7. Weekly revenue

The treasury receives tax revenue at the start of each week.

In plain words: money comes in a little at a time, and leaves a lot at once.

  8. Article 8. Pressure

From the sixth week, all effects are increased by twenty per cent.

In plain words: the second half of the season is harder. So is the second half of anything.

  9. Article 9. Appeals

A citizen may appeal a decision of the machine. Appeals are heard within capacity.

In plain words: capacity is six.

  10. Article 10. Emergencies

In an emergency the President may assume additional powers until the emergency ends.

In plain words: the President decides when the emergency ends.
