Words, context, citation

A published quote must be traceable to a source. We distinguish exact words from a translation, a paraphrase and the award’s editorial citation.

Original material where available

Transcripts, published documents and original recordings give readers a way to check the context. Reporting may supply context or lead us to that material; a link alone does not establish that a claim is correct.

A record at the time of publication

Each edition should record the source, relevant date and, for recordings, the timestamp. If the source changes later, the record should say so.

What AI does

AI tools support retrieval, comparison and drafting. They do not serve as sources and they do not independently approve the final awards.

When something needs correcting

Factual corrections should identify the original error and the amendment. A reply belongs beside the relevant award, with its date.
