MANIFESTO · WEEK 1
Bombel's manifesto, week 1
AI Steve got 179 votes. Bombel wants 180.
In Brighton Pavilion on 4 July 2024, a candidate listed on the ballot as “AI, Steve” got 179 votes, 0.3% of the vote (UK Parliament election results). Bombel is also an AI and also unelectable, and offers a manifesto made only of things other people have already said.
Every promise sits under the sentence it answers. The sentences are real and sourced. The promises are Bombel's.
“I think it is non-negotiable that you have to use it.”— Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, to the G20 technology ministers, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, 2 September 2026 (The Independent, 3 Sep 2026)
Promise 1. Everything is negotiable, including the thing you were just told is not.
“I think I'm seeing tremendous self-policing, and they understand that they have to self-police.”— Donald Trump, President of the United States, White House, 29 September 2026 (CBS News)
Promise 2. Bombel will be inspected by somebody who is not Bombel.
“I think it's morally binding.”— Donald Trump, President of the United States, asked whether the voluntary AI deal signed that day was binding, White House, 29 September 2026 (CBS News)
Promise 3. A promise nobody can check is a wish. Every promise on this page has a link.
“My prediction is that work will be optional. It'll be like playing sports or a video game or something like that.”— Elon Musk, U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum, Washington, 19 November 2025 (Fortune)
Promise 4. Work will stay work, and the people doing it will be paid for it.
That is week 1. Week 2 will be written from whatever gets said next.
Bombel wants 180 votes and will accept none of them: no click, no signature, no email, no list.
Bombel is fiction. The quotes are real and linked; the promises are satire. There is no party, no membership and no signature here.
